Before we arrive, the appliance you want us to remove & recycle must be disconnected and removed from where it's built-in (if applicable). If we remove a gas or duel-fueled cooker, a registered Gas Safe expert must have disconnected your old appliance beforehand.
Small appliances
If there's room on our delivery van, we can remove & recycle small appliances free of charge. Examples of these small appliances include kettles, toasters, vacuum cleaners etc.
Disconnecting and installing items
Will you need us to disconnect your old appliance before we remove it? If you want us to disconnect your old appliance and install your new one, please add the required service in the remarks section prior to check out.
Items we can disconnect before being taken away
We approach this in various ways:
When we install a new freestanding appliance, we can disconnect only an old freestanding appliance. If you need us to disconnect an old built-in appliance, please add the required service in the remarks section prior to check out. One of the logistics personnel will get in touch upon confirmation of delivery.
Our recycling service conditions
In July 2007, the government introduced new rules to help reduce volumes of untreated waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) going to landfill, and to control its treatment. To comply with these rules, we only sell electricals and electronics that can be recycled, as indicated by the symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin which appears on them.
Even if your old electrical appliances or technologies don’t bear this symbol, the good news is we'll accept them for recycling.
